i offer a blend of the techniques below in a gentle flow, customized to your needs and wants. my style is slow and intentional, applying many compressions and holds to allow your nervous system to better tune in to and process the touch your body is receiving. deep stretching and light rocking is also woven into the sessions. my pressure is generally light to medium, however, everyone’s body is different – what is light pressure for some is firm for others and i have gotten both ends of feedback from folks. my touch has been described as deeply relaxing, caring, and intuitive~*
myofascial release : fascia is a fibrous web of connective tissue that envelopes, weaves between, and extends into every structure and system of our body. it is the largest sensory organ in the body. it plays a primary role in communicating info about what’s happening in the body to your brain, as well as shaping, nourishing, lubricating, and moving the body. fascia is flexible, stretchy, and strong but when the body experiences physical or emotional trauma, of any scale, it can tighten and become rigid which can lead to pain, loss of motion, and a sense of disconnection from the body. fascia is slow-releasing and calls for sustained but gentle pressure. the release is deeply powerful. can be done over clothing or on bare skin with light lubricant.
swedish : most common style of massage. generally full body and working down to the superficial layers of muscles. soft, gliding, long strokes towards the heart on bare skin, using a lubricant. can also incorporate friction, kneading, and tapping.
deep tissue : slower pace, greater pressure (not aggressively so; should not be painful at all), less lubricant, and working down to the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. best done on bare skin. generally more spot specific and for chronic muscle pain/tension.
lymphatic : the lymphatic system is comprised of 500 to 700 lymph nodes throughout the body and supports immune, metabolic, and circulatory functions. gentle, rhythmic strokes encourage movement of lymph fluids just under the skin without compressing vessels, which can provide relief from mild to moderate swelling, help facilitate post-surgery/post-injury healing, and strengthen immunity. i’ve received feedback from many clients that lymphatic massage has helped provide relief from chronic headaches/migraines and stuffy sinuses. can be applied on bare skin or over clothing.
prenatal, postpartum, & infant massage: it can feel especially physically and emotionally supportive to receive bodywork while going through a pregnancy or after giving birth. prenatal and postpartum massages can consist of all the modalities listed above, but with particular considerations and accommodations to ensure the comfort of your body and baby as you prepare to give birth/recover from giving birth. i also offer lessons on infant massage for parents, parents-to-be, infant caretakers, doulas, etc. infant massage has a profoundly positive effect on a baby’s physical health and emotional development. it’s also a lovely way to destress and bond with your baby. please inquire for more info!
i completed an intro to craniosacral course earlier this year and incorporate the things i learned into my sessions but i will hopefully be able to offer full craniosacral sessions in 2026 after completing the advanced course 🙂
i will be offering thai massage (table and floor sessions) starting fall 2025!
